Break IT Down

Welcome to „Break IT Down – Research IT in 30 Minutes”!

What is Break IT Down about?

“Break IT Down – Research IT in 30 Minutes” is an offering for researchers that allows you to learn about the various services and solutions of the IT for Research and Management (IFM) department at the Medical Center for Information and Communication Technology (MIK).

In the talks, thematically related services and tools are briefly introduced, their functions and benefits are explained, and it is shown how you can make use of them. The lectures are designed so that no IT expertise is required. The content of the lectures does not directly build on one another, so it is not a problem if you attend only individual sessions.

How does Break IT Down work?

Each session lasts 30 minutes, with up to 25 minutes of presentation time. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to ask questions about the topics that were discussed.

The language of the talks and presentation slides is German. However, English-language slides are provided as well. If you are interested in English-language talk, please let us know. With sufficient demand, we will offer English-language lectures again in the future.

When and where does Break IT Down take place?

The event takes place every four weeks on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:00 PM, online via Webex. You can participate without registering, simply use the respective Webex dial-in link in the events listed in the UKER event portal or in the table further below.

To make sure you don’t miss a session, you can export the events to your calendar.

No time for a particular session? No problem!

All talks are recorded and published here in the employee portal together with the presentation slides. Links to the event pages can also be found in the table below.

Previous lectures are still available in our talk collection. If a topic is repeated, the materials from the earlier lecture will be updated.
