Data integration centre

The data integration centre (DIC) is a central component of the “IT for Research and Management” department and supports both clinical research and the administrative operation of the hospital. It offers you access to raw data from the IT systems of routine clinical operations via the hospital's data warehouse, as well as to data sets that have been extensively processed and cleansed in accordance with the standards of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) and are suitable for multi-center studies. Depending on the application, all data is pseudonymized or anonymized before release.

For the processing of research data, the DIC provides you with powerful IT resources such as CPUs, GPUs, RAM and storage space, which you can use via JupyterLab, RStudio or preconfigured containers, for example.

In close cooperation with the Chair of Medical Informatics (LMI) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität, the DIC team develops and implements modern data solutions that are specifically tailored to the needs of your research.
